Stand-in captain Yashasvi Jaiswal elected to bowl first after winning the toss for Rajasthan Royals against Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur, banking on dew to aid the chase later in the evening. Regular skipper Riyan Parag missed the match with a hamstring injury but was named among the Impact Substitutes.

“It means a lot to me and I’m proud to represent the Rajasthan Royals franchise,” Jaiswal said at the toss.

RR made three changes to their XI, bringing in Sandeep Sharma, Sushant Mishra and Lhuan-dre Pretorius. Parag, Ravi Singh and Adam Milne were left out, while Mishra made his IPL debut. RR have struggled at home recently, managing only one win in their last eight matches in Jaipur since the start of IPL 2025, and remain in a crowded race for the playoff spots.

For LSG, Mohammed Shami missed out as Mohsin Khan returned to the side. Ayush Badoni also came back into the XI, replacing Aiden Markram, who returned home for personal reasons and will miss the remainder of the season. Already out of playoff contention, LSG fielded only three overseas players, with mystery spinner Digvesh Rathi likely to feature as the Impact Player later in the match.
