The trio replace experienced campaigners Suzie Bates, Lauren Down and Lea Tahuhu on the contracted list, while Sophie Devine is also absent after playing under a casual agreement last season. With Bates, Tahuhu and Devine expected to retire following the Women’s T20 World Cup, New Zealand is preparing for a significant transition.
Devonshire impressed through NZC’s Central Players of Interest programme and has already featured in two World Cup squads since her international debut in 2025. Patel earned a return to the contracted group after a standout start to her international career, claiming 14 T20I wickets at an average of just 9.8. Meanwhile, hard-hitting batter Izzy Sharp’s consistent domestic performances and leadership credentials have earned her first central contract.
The new recruits join an experienced core led by captain Melie Kerr, as the White Ferns balance youth and experience while building towards the future.
