The Surrey wicketkeeper-batter, who has impressed as Surrey’s 50-over captain this season, will lead a talented group featuring a mix of experienced prospects and rising stars aiming to break into the senior England setup.
Among the notable names selected are senior internationals Jodi Grewcock, Ryana MacDonald-Gay and Charis Pavely, while highly-rated youngsters Davina Perrin, Grace Scrivens and Sophia Smale continue their push for future England recognition.
England Women’s lead batting coach Jon Lewis, who will oversee the A side, believes the series will provide a valuable benchmark for the squad’s development.
“The India series will be another test of where this talented group is at,” Lewis said, adding that Chathli’s leadership role is a reward for her strong performances and progress in domestic cricket.
The six-match series consists of three T20s and three 50-over matches, offering players an important opportunity to impress selectors and strengthen their case for senior international selection.
England A begin their campaign against India A in Northampton before the series moves to Chelmsford and Taunton through early July.
