The IPL’s Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) has raised concerns over multiple breaches of tournament protocols during the ongoing Indian Premier League season. The issue has prompted the BCCI to remind all franchises to strictly follow the league’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and anti-corruption guidelines.

IPL chairman Arun Dhumal confirmed that the ACSU submitted a detailed report after observing unauthorised individuals in restricted areas such as team dugouts, buses, hotels and the Players and Match Officials Area (PMOA). According to Dhumal, maintaining the sanctity and integrity of the tournament remains the board’s top priority.

“The Anti-Corruption and Security Unit has flagged certain anomalies and submitted a report about unauthorised persons being seen in dugout, team bus and team hotel during IPL matches,” Dhumal said. He added that franchises would be advised to remain careful and ensure all security protocols are properly followed throughout the tournament.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia also admitted that several “anomalies and irregularities” had been noticed during the season. He revealed that some unauthorised individuals were moving alongside team members and, in certain cases, even entering hotels, players’ rooms and officials’ areas, which directly violates anti-corruption rules.

Saikia further stated that some team owners and franchise officials were seen mingling with players in restricted zones where access is not permitted. The BCCI considers these breaches serious and is preparing an official advisory that will soon be circulated to all IPL teams.

“We have taken this very seriously. If there is any violation hereinafter, then BCCI and IPL will take very stringent action,” Saikia warned. The upcoming advisory is expected to reinforce security measures, access restrictions and strict compliance with IPL anti-corruption protocols for the remainder of the season.
