Match 19 of the IPL 2024 edition will see the Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals (RR) host the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the iconic Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday evening (April 6). While the Samson-led unit is yet to drop a game, with three back-to-back wins, the Virat Kohli-starrer franchise is struggling at the eighth spot with one victory from three games.
The Rajasthan franchise is coming into this game on the back of an impressive six-wicket win over Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. On the other hand, RCB will face RR following two successive losses at home, versus Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Thus, they have plenty to ponder upon in order to regain some form.
Talking about RR, they will only hope for the likes of openers Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal to strike some form given their bowling is looking stronger than ever. Riyan Parag’s resurgence is surely their biggest strength at the moment. For RCB, the Faf du Plessis-led side need their big guns to click. Only their lower-order batters, including Dinesh Karthik, Mahipal Lomror and Anuj Rawat, have shown some form. Even their bowlers have struggled, especially at home, but they will fancy bowling in better conditions in Jaipur.

Match preview and result prediction: Jaipur has so far produced 180-plus affairs in both the games this season, one an afternoon clash and other being held in the evening. Expect a high-scoring encounter, with at least one among Buttler and Jaiswal to get going, with the chasing team to emerge on top. Batting will get easier as the team progresses but it will still have something for the bowlers.
A tight contest is on the cards but RCB will surely have to be at their best to halt RR’s unbeaten run.
