Delhi Capitals will host Kolkata Knight Riders in game 16 of IPL 2024 on Wednesday (April 3) in Vizag. The home team is oozing with confidence following their massive win over Chennai Super Kings in their previous outing at the same venue, while the touring KKR side will also enter the contest with four points in their kitty. Rishabh Pant-led DC would like to bank on the momentum they gained after beating CSK – their first win of this season. Bringing in Prithvi Shaw at the top made all the difference as the Indian batter made inroads upfront, going all out against the moving ball. David Warner’s run-of-form also helped the cause, as DC management would like to see a repeat of that against the high-flying KKR.

Pant scoring a fifty in the other game also came as a bonus for the home side, though lower-order form remains a worry at the same time. 

However, a strong Indian bowling attack makes for their failed batting prowess. In Kuldeep Yadav’s absence, Axar Patel will hold the keys in the spin attack, while Mukesh Kumar will again shoulder the burden of delivering at the end.

The Kolkata Team has its flaws exposed in this tournament but has managed to strike gold on both occasions in their two contested matches. Filled with star batters, KKR would like their hard-hitters to come good at this high-scoring venue while all eyes will again be on the West Indian Andre Russell. 

The all-rounder has been on song this season, striking at 256 while picking four wickets in two matches. 

Besides, Mitchell Starc is one name that will again have all the eyeballs on him. The tournament’s most expensive player has leaked 100 runs in two games without picking a wicket and would like to turn the tables around against a vulnerable DC batting attack.
