On Wednesday (April 3), the Mumbai Indians team arrived in the district of Jamnagar as they looked to regroup. Mumbai have lost three matches under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya and have been in sixes and sevens at the start of the season. Players like Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan were spotted arriving at the airport with the former also accompanied by his wife Ritika Sajdeh and daughter. The players were also accompanied by coaches and other backroom staff members.
Mumbai lost two close encounters at the start of the IPL 2024 campaign after losing to Gujarat Titans (GT) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). In Hardik’s debut match as skipper, MI lost by six runs to his former side while despite scoring 246 against SRH, they were second best by 31 runs in Hyderabad.
In their third match of the season, also their first on home turf, Mumbai were beaten convincingly by Rajasthan Royals. They lost by six wickets in the one-sided contest which turned out to be their third defeat of the campaign.
Despite the defeat, Mumbai can still retain lots of confidence from their previous campaigns having come back from vulnerable situations to reach the playoffs. In 2008 they lost the first four matches and followed with six consecutive wins.
