Hyderabad Kingsmen sealed a dramatic berth in the PSL 2026 final after a nerve-wracking three-run victory over Islamabad United, thanks to a sensational final over from Hunain Shah at the Gaddafi Stadium.

Defending 186 in a high-scoring contest, Kingsmen looked on the brink of elimination when Islamabad United required just six runs from the final over with well-set batters Chris Green and Faheem Ashraf at the crease. However, Hunain Shah delivered under immense pressure, conceding only three runs while executing five pinpoint yorkers. He also claimed the crucial wicket of Faheem Ashraf, shifting the momentum completely in Kingsmen’s favor.

With four runs needed off the final ball, Hunain held his nerve and allowed only a leg bye, sealing a famous win and sending Hyderabad Kingsmen into the PSL final, where they will face Peshawar Zalmi.

Earlier in the match, Islamabad United mounted a strong chase despite early setbacks. Explosive contributions from Mark Chapman (43 off 26), Haider Ali (31 off 16), and an unbeaten cameo from Chris Green (21* off 9) kept them in the hunt. The team recovered impressively from 68 for 4 at the halfway stage, pushing the game to a thrilling finish.

Kingsmen’s bowlers initially made early inroads, with disciplined spells from both pacers and spinners creating pressure. Saim Ayub and Hassan Khan played key roles in disrupting United’s momentum during the middle overs.

In the first innings, Hyderabad Kingsmen posted a competitive total of 186 after recovering from a shaky 85 for 4. The turnaround was led by Usman Khan, who smashed an unbeaten 61 off just 30 balls, and Kusal Perera, who added a quickfire 37 off 21. Their 101-run partnership off just 50 deliveries proved to be the backbone of the innings.

Usman Khan rode his luck after being dropped twice but capitalized fully, taking the attack to the bowlers. Earlier, Saim Ayub contributed 38 off 27, while Marnus Labuschagne provided stability before falling alongside Glenn Maxwell in a crucial over by Imad Wasim.

The victory marks a remarkable comeback for Hyderabad Kingsmen, who had lost their first four matches of the tournament. With seven wins in their last eight games, they now head into the PSL 2026 final with strong momentum and confidence, just one step away from lifting the trophy.
