Former Australia batter set to join Cricket Victoria’s new global venture
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!David Hussey has stepped down as Victoria’s head of men’s cricket after playing a major role in rebuilding the state’s program over recent seasons.
Hussey will now move into a new role connected to a global venture that Cricket Victoria is preparing to launch.
During his tenure, Victoria reached two Sheffield Shield finals and a One-Day Cup final, while also focusing heavily on developing home-grown talent across the squad.
Although silverware narrowly escaped them, Hussey helped shape a strong core of Victorian players and strengthened the state’s high-performance structure.
Cricket Victoria general manager Graham Manou praised Hussey’s long-lasting impact on the organisation and the wider cricket community.
“David’s influence on Victorian cricket is immeasurable,” Manou said. “His passion, leadership and commitment to people have helped build strong foundations for the future.”
The announcement comes shortly after Victoria extended head coach Chris Rogers’ contract for another two years following the team’s third Sheffield Shield final appearance in five seasons.
Hussey’s departure marks the end of an important chapter for Victoria, with the former Australia batter leaving behind a strong platform for the next generation.
