Cristiano Ronaldo has created history again, this time in the Saudi Pro League. The Portuguese scored two goals during his team Al-Nassr’s last game of the season and took his tally to 35 goals in the season – the most by a player in the Saudi league. Courtesy of Ronaldo’s goals, his team capped off the season with a 4-2 victory over Al-Ittihad.

The previous record for most goals in a Saudi Pro League season was 34, set by former Al-Nassr and Morocco player Abderrazak Hamdallah in the 2018-19 season. This was also Ronaldo’s first full season at Al-Nassr after joining the league early last year. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner scored four hattricks in the season as well.

For his goals on Monday (May 27), Ronaldo had to wait a bit longer after two of his goals were deemed offside early in the first half. He scored his first one of the night in the final second of the first 45 minutes, thanks to a long pass from Mohammed Al-Fatil.

The 39-year-old scored his second goal in the second half with 21 minutes remaining in the game. He celebrated the achievement wildly before being substituted for the rest of the game five minutes later. Have a look at the goal here:
