Zimbabwe return home for first international assignment since memorable T20 World Cup campaign
Bangladesh national cricket team are set to tour Zimbabwe national cricket team for an all-format series in June and July, featuring one Test, three ODIs and three T20Is.
The series will mark Zimbabwe’s first home assignment of the year and their first international action since their impressive run at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup earlier this year.
Zimbabwe enjoyed a historic campaign at the tournament in India and Sri Lanka, reaching the Super Eight stage for the first time after securing notable wins over Australia and Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh last toured Zimbabwe in July-August 2022, when the hosts won both the ODI and T20I series 2-1 in Harare. No Test match was played during that tour.
Zimbabwe Cricket managing director Givemore Makoni welcomed the upcoming series, calling it an important moment for cricket in the country.
Makoni said Zimbabwe were excited to host Bangladesh following the team’s recent success on the world stage and expressed confidence that fans in Harare and Bulawayo would strongly support the side.
