Australia’s white-ball tour of Bangladesh has been officially confirmed for June 2026, featuring a packed schedule of three ODIs and three T20Is within a span of 13 days. This bilateral series is set to play a crucial role in both teams’ preparations for upcoming global tournaments.

The ODI leg of the tour will be held in Dhaka on June 9, 11, and 14. The series will then move to Chattogram, where the T20I matches are scheduled for June 17, 19, and 21. Match timings are yet to be finalized, with reports suggesting the possibility of day games due to ongoing energy-saving measures in Bangladesh caused by fuel shortages linked to the West Asia crisis.

This adjustment follows a similar approach taken during the recent Bangladesh vs New Zealand series, where match start times were moved earlier to reduce reliance on floodlights.

For Australia men’s national cricket team, this will mark only their second bilateral T20I series in Bangladesh, having last toured in 2021 when the hosts secured a dominant 4-1 victory. In contrast, Australia’s ODI appearances in Bangladesh have been rare, with their last tour dating back to 2011.

Mitchell Marsh is expected to lead Australia in T20Is, while Pat Cummins remains the official ODI captain. However, Marsh has recently stepped in as ODI skipper in Cummins’ absence, indicating potential flexibility in leadership roles during the tour.

Before arriving in Bangladesh, Australia are scheduled to play a three-match ODI series in Pakistan, which overlaps with the concluding phase of the IPL. These fixtures, along with the Bangladesh series, will kickstart Australia’s preparations for defending their title in the 2027 ODI World Cup in southern Africa.

Looking ahead, Australia also have ODI series lined up against Zimbabwe, South Africa, and England later in 2026.

In the T20I format, this series will be Australia’s first assignment since their early exit from the 2026 T20 World Cup. It also marks the beginning of a new two-year cycle leading up to the 2028 Olympics and the 2028 T20 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh national cricket team are scheduled to tour Australia later this year for a two-match Test series in August, with games set to be played in Darwin and Mackay.
