Ahead of his final match as the head coach, Dravid insisted that his side is ready for the challenge and will put behind the disappointment of the ODI World Cup defeat to Australia in November 2023.

Dravid insists India has put behind the disappointment
“Nothing, I thought we were very well prepared in that final as well. I thought we were very well prepared in Ahmedabad [ODI World Cup final 2023]. We’ve done all the things, we’ve ticked all the boxes and, on the day, the other team played better and that’s part of the sport. I don’t think players go in keeping the baggage of the past and what has happened in the past,” Dravid said in his final pre-match press conference.
India beat England by 68 runs on Thursday in the second semifinal which saw them book their place in the T20 World Cup final. This will be India’s third T20 World Cup final having last reached the summit clash in 2014 when they lost to Sri Lanka. India’s only other appearance in the final was in 2007 when they won the T20 World Cup in the inaugural edition under MS Dhoni’s captaincy.
“So, every day is a fresh day. Players are very good at moving on from things, or recognizing things. So yes, I think just as we will move on from Ahmedabad, I’m sure they will not be thinking about history and it will be a fresh day,” said Dravid in the pre-match press conference ahead of the final,” he added.
