The fake shirts were found among other forged products such as luxury watches, leather goods and electronics when agents were searching 15 heavy-duty lorries, police said in a press release.

The investigation started last April when two tonnes of counterfeit shirts of Spanish football clubs sent from China were seized.

Police found out a big shipment was bound to Spain before the Champions League final and the Euro finals, and set up an operation with more than 20 agents.

Police estimate the whole merchandise would have a market value of more than six million euros ($6.50 million).
