The Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR), owned by the globally renowned Knight Riders group, have announced their official home venue for the 2026 season of Major League Cricket. The newly developed Knight Riders Cricket Field, located at Fairplex in Pomona, will host several of the franchise’s matches, marking a significant step toward establishing a strong cricketing base in the United States.

This move signals a major shift for Major League Cricket, which, in its first three seasons, operated without dedicated home venues for its teams. Matches were previously distributed across cities like Oakland, Dallas, and Lauderhill. The 2026 season, expected to take place during the June–July window, could see a more localized and fan-centric experience with teams finally hosting games at their own grounds.

The Knight Riders group, which also owns franchises in leagues such as the IPL and CPL, aims to transform Pomona into a cricket hub in North America. Speaking on the development, co-owner Shah Rukh Khan highlighted the potential of the US sports market and expressed excitement about building a community-driven cricket culture in Los Angeles.

Notably, the Knight Riders Cricket Field is also expected to play a role in the Cricket at the 2028 Summer Olympics, where cricket will return to the Olympics after a 128-year absence. This adds global significance to the venue, positioning it as a key infrastructure asset for the sport’s growth in the region.

The Fairplex complex, traditionally known for hosting large-scale fairs, conventions, and entertainment events, will now expand its portfolio to include international-standard cricket matches. With this development, LA Knight Riders aim not only to improve their on-field performance—having yet to reach an MLC final—but also to strengthen fan engagement and elevate cricket’s profile across the United States.
