Rajasthan Royals (RR) will take on Mumbai Indians (MI) on Monday (Apr 22) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 in the reverse fixture. RR had beaten MI earlier in the tournament in Mumbai comfortably by six wickets. Currently, the Royals are at the top of the points table with six wins in seven games while MI sit in seventh position with just three wins in seven games.

Royals have done very well in the tournament on the back of their batters, while MI have been off and on with both bat and the ball. Royals skipper Sanju Samson (276 runs), Riyan Parag (318 runs) and Jos Buttler (250 runs) have stepped in at different times to win it for the team.

MI, who started the season with three consecutive losses, saw a turnaround with three wins in the next four games but still lack consistency. Rohit Sharma at the top of the order has been sublime while Jasprit Bumrah has proved to be a menace with the ball.

Apart from those two, no other Mumbai player has been able to reprise match-winning performances on a regular basis. While Gerald Coetzee is second on the wicket-taking charts with 12 scalps, his economy touches 10 and Suryakumar Yadav, since his return, has been both a success and a bust in four innings. MI skipper Hardik Pandya’s form with both bat and the ball has also been a concern for them.

As for the Royals, their bowlers have chipped in at all times with leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal leading the attack. Royals definitely look a better side to win as they have done most of the times this season barring a close loss to Gujarat Titans.

Mumbai, on the other hand, must click if they wish to enter the mid-table logjam and move further up to make it to the playoffs.
