Following a record-breaking tie in Hyderabad between SRH and MI the other night, the action moves to Jaipur in the west of India, with Rajasthan Royals hosting Delhi Capitals in game 9 of IPL 2024. Following an emphatic win over Lucknow Super Giants in their season opener at home, with seamers, mainly the left-arm duo of Trent Boult and Nandre Burger, doing the damage with the new ball, Rajasthan took a lot of positives heading forward in this tournament. 

The rise of Riyan Parag as a dependable batter in the middle order, glimpses of which were visible in the LSG game, will further help RR openers to play freely, knowing they have players to handle situations down the order. With the dominant top three in Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Captain Sanju Samson, the host sits in a better position heading into this contest.

The dynamite attacking duo of Shimron Hetmyer and Rovman Powell (if picked) can tear into any bowling attack on their day, while Sandeep Sharma will again hold the keys for RR in this crucial tie.

Meanwhile, the touring Delhi side has a lot to ponder after going down in their first game of the season against Punjab Kings in an away clash. Although Delhi had its bases covered, the ploy failed to click on that day, leaving them to make the right changes for the RR tie. 

With three seamers – Anrich Nortje, Ishant Sharma and Mukesh Kumar returning to the training ground, Delhi will be ready to take on the spirited Rajasthan side.
