Such was the marauding hitting of SRH batters that the entire seam placement of the white ball came out, forcing the umpires to call for a replacement ball in the 19th over of the innings.

SRH were put into bat first by MI’s newly-appointed captain Hardik Pandya. The decision, however, proved to be a grave mistake as opener Travis Head, debuting for SRH, came out of the blocks in a blistering manner.

The Australian smashed the fastest fifty for the franchise before Abhishek Sharma broke the record 20 minutes later. Middle-order star Heinrich Klassen continued the onslaught and smashed 80 off 34 balls to set the record target.
