India scripted history by winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup title for a record third time after defeating New Zealand national cricket team by 96 RUNS in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad last night. Led by captain Suryakumar Yadav, Team India set a massive target of 256 runs. In reply, New Zealand were bowled out for just 159 runs in 19 overs. Star pacer Jasprit Bumrah delivered a match-winning performance, claiming four wickets and earning the Player of the Match award.

Following the historic victory, Droupadi Murmu, C. P. Radhakrishnan, and Narendra Modi congratulated the Indian cricket team for their remarkable achievement in the T20 World Cup.

In a social media post, President Murmu said that India now holds the proud distinction of being the only country to win the T20 World Cup three times and the only team to secure the title in consecutive editions. She said the victory brings immense joy and pride to millions of cricket lovers across the nation and highlights the rich talent pool among India’s youth. The President also praised every player, the team management, and support staff for their collective effort in securing the historic triumph.

Vice President Radhakrishnan described the victory as a proud moment for the nation, stating that India’s commanding performance in the final has made it the first team to win three ICC Men’s T20 World Cup titles. He extended his best wishes to the entire squad, support staff, and millions of fans whose unwavering support contributed to this remarkable achievement. He added that the nation is celebrating the glorious victory with great pride.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated the team, saying the victory demonstrates how determination, discipline, and self-confidence form the foundation of success. Sharing a Sanskrit shloka on social media, the Prime Minister said that the win proves every goal can be achieved through hard work and dedication. He encouraged citizens to pursue their aspirations with perseverance and commitment.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also praised Team India, saying their exceptional performance throughout the tournament and their fighting spirit brought immense glory and pride to the nation.
