West Ham’s Bowen was keen to impress that the perceived slow start to the tournament is down to the high standards they have already set and that 4 points is a good return at this stage of the tournament.

”No, listen, I get it as well (on criticism of England’s performance in last game) You know, because you want to win the games and you want to be in the best position possible. But, you know, sometimes it’s it’s not as easy as that. And it’s, you know, the support here is…like a like I said before, it’s my first tournament. So it’s my first time seeing, you know, England at a major tournament with the fans and the following that it is. You know for me it’s, you know, one of the best. And yes, we’re disappointed that we haven’t won the game,” Bowen said.

Southgate led training at England’s Blankenhain training base earlier in the day ahead of their final group stage game against Slovenia on Tuesday (June 25).
