Mourinho back in management
The two-time Champions League winner will sign the deal as the current boss İsmail Kartal is to be released by the club. It has been a decade since Fenerbahçe last won the league title and Mourinho according to the club owners is the right man to lead them to success. The Portugal gaffer has won league titles in Spain, England, Italy and his home nation and comes with big experience.
Mourinho has coached the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Inter Milan in the past and has won titles almost at all clubs. His spell at Tottenham Hotspur between 2019 and 2021 was the only time he ended without a title at a club.
While Fenerbahçe will look to challenge the supremacy of arch-rivals Galatasaray who yet again won the Turkish league. They amassed 102 points in the season to win the league and got the better of Fenerbahçe who had only lost one match in the domestic league season.
It is reported that Mourinho rejected offers from the Saudi Pro League to stay in Europe while he was never in negotiation with any English side. He was also linked with the vacant job at Bayern Munich, but once Vincent Kompany was confirmed as the manager of the side, the three-time Premier League champion decided to leave for Turkey.
The 61-year-old will work with players like Fred, Dusan Tadic, Edin Dzeko and other former Premier League stars.
