Buttler went on to hit nine fours and four sixes in his innings as Rajasthan won the match by six wickets. Buttler’s highest score was 13 in the previous three matches played before the game against RCB. He now has 135 runs in four matches to his name – third most for Royals behind Riyan Parag’s 185 and skipper Sanju Samson’s 178 in as many games.
As for the match, RCB rode on Kohli’s record-extending albeit joint-slowest hundred to post 183/3 in 20 overs. Apart from him, skipper Faf du Plessis also scored 33-ball 44. No other RCB batter could reach double-figures as Royals bowlers kept the screws tight despite not getting the wickets.
During the chase, Royals lost Yashasvi Jaiswal early but 148-run partnership between Buttler and skipper Sanju Samson, who scored 42-ball 69, turned the game around. Royals did lose two more quick wickets after Samson’s dismissal but Buttler stayed on till the end and finished off the game with a six.
This was Rajasthan’s fourth win in as many games to go on top of the points table. RCB, on the other hand, are eighth on the 10-team table with just two points after four losses and one win from five games they have played in the season so far.
