Rishabh Pant is all set for a landmark appearance in the colours of Delhi Capitals (DC) on Thursday (Mar 28) as his side search for their maiden win of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Pant, who returned to competitive cricket after a 14-month break due to a near-fatal accident, has had to wait a long time for what will be his 100th appearance for Delhi Capitals when he plays Rajasthan Royals. The contest in Jaipur will be Delhi’s second match of the campaign as they try to become the first team to register an away win in the ongoing IPL 2024 season.

A one-club man, Pant started his career at Delhi Capitals in 2016 and has since been centric to the team’s success. He made 98 appearances for Delhi Capitals before the start of IPL 2023, but an injury in an accident saw him miss out on the tournament. However, a speedy recovery and rehabilitation saw him make the squad for the IPL 2024. He was also named the captain of the franchise for the IPL 2024 with David Warner stepping down.
On Thursday at the Sawai Mansing Stadium, he will become just the second player after Amit Mishra to feature in 100 IPL matches for the side. He ranks above former Delhi captain Virender Sehwag (86) and Shreyas Iyer who now captains the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

Delhi Capitals will search for their first win of the IPL 2024 season having lost to Punjab Kings in the opening match of the season. They were beaten by four wickets in Mullanpur on Saturday after failing to capitalise on a bright start.
