The series will begin on July 15 in Bulawayo, with all three matches scheduled to be played at the Queens Sports Club.
Litton Das, along with all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz and fast bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Hasan Mahmud, will miss the T20I series after being granted No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to participate in the Lanka Premier League, which overlaps with Bangladesh’s tour of Zimbabwe. Litton is also recovering from a calf injury and is expected to regain full fitness ahead of the second ODI.
This will be Hridoy’s second stint as Bangladesh’s T20I captain. The 24-year-old previously led the national side during the recent home T20I series against Australia when Litton was unavailable due to injury. His appointment reflects the team’s confidence in his leadership abilities.
The squad also marks the return of pace-bowling all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin, who has earned a comeback after being out of the national T20I setup. Experienced batters Yasir Ali and Mosaddek Hossain have also been recalled, while Shamim Hossain has been left out after featuring in the Australia series.
Before the T20I leg of the tour, Bangladesh will take on Zimbabwe in a three-match ODI series beginning on July 6. The visitors will be aiming to bounce back after suffering a heavy innings-and-85-run defeat in the one-off Test in Harare.
