Gujarat Titans (GT) batter Jos Buttler is staying optimistic about rediscovering his best form in IPL 2026, भरोसेमंद on his experience and game awareness to turn things around. Despite a relatively quiet run in T20 cricket this year, the England white-ball star believes he is close to making a significant impact for his franchise.

Buttler, widely regarded as one of England’s greatest T20 players, has endured a challenging 2026 so far. In 11 T20Is this year, he has managed an average of 15.27 with a strike rate below 125. However, his starts in IPL 2026 — scoring 38 off 33 balls against Punjab Kings and 26 off 14 balls against Rajasthan Royals — indicate signs of improvement.

Speaking on the For the Love of Cricket podcast, Buttler highlighted the importance of mental clarity and sticking to his fundamentals. He credited the short break after the T20 World Cup for helping him reset and refocus.

“I feel good actually. The break helped me step away and come back fresh. Right now, I’m just focusing on my setup and making sure I’m in the right position when the ball is released,” Buttler said. “It’s about trusting my game and experience and letting things fall into place.”

The GT batter emphasized the importance of staying present and not overthinking past performances. He acknowledged that players can sometimes develop mental blocks against certain bowlers or venues but is consciously working to avoid that mindset.

“Every innings starts from zero. I’m just looking forward and not dwelling on past successes or failures. Staying mentally free is key,” he added.

Buttler has also been benefiting from the guidance of Gujarat Titans’ batting coach Matthew Hayden. The former Australia opener’s experience and simple approach have made a positive impression on the Englishman.

“It’s been great learning from Hayden. His presence and insights are valuable, and we’ve been focusing on keeping things simple,” Buttler noted.

Meanwhile, GT team-mate B Sai Sudharsan has thrown his support behind Buttler, stating that he looks the most likely among the batters to produce a match-winning knock soon.

As Gujarat Titans prepare to face Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Buttler is expected to bat at No. 3, alongside Sai Sudharsan and captain Shubman Gill, who is set to return after recovering from a neck issue.
