South Africa Women are set for a thrilling home summer in 2026, with high-profile tours from India and Australia that promise to deliver top-quality international cricket and boost the growing popularity of the women’s game.

India Women will kick off the action with a three-match ODI series, part of the ICC Women’s Championship, starting on December 9 in Potchefstroom. The second ODI will take place in Bloemfontein, followed by the final match at Newlands, Cape Town. This series will be crucial for both teams as they aim to secure valuable championship points and strengthen their standings.

The tour will also feature a one-off Test match at St George’s Park in Gqeberha from December 20 to 23. This encounter will mark only the fourth Test between India Women and South Africa Women, with India having won all previous meetings in 2002, 2014, and 2024. The match is expected to draw significant attention despite coinciding with the men’s Test between South Africa and England.

In early 2027, South Africa will host Australia Women for a full-fledged tour across all formats, making it one of the most anticipated series of the season. The tour begins with a three-match T20I series starting March 18 in Kimberley, followed by matches in Benoni and East London.

The ODI leg of the series will commence on March 27 in Gqeberha, with subsequent matches in Paarl and Durban. The final ODI in Durban on April 3 will be observed as the ‘Black Day ODI’, continuing efforts to raise awareness against gender-based violence — an important initiative supported by Cricket South Africa.

The tour will conclude with a one-off Test match at JB Marks Oval from April 8 to 11. This will be just the second women’s Test between South Africa and Australia, after their first meeting in 2024 where Australia secured a dominant victory.

Notably, this marks Australia Women’s first full bilateral tour of South Africa, after their planned 2020 visit was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cricket South Africa CEO Pholetsi Moseki expressed excitement about the upcoming fixtures, stating that hosting two of the world’s top teams will not only showcase elite-level cricket but also continue to drive fan engagement and attendance across iconic venues in the country.

With marquee clashes, historic Test matches, and meaningful initiatives, South Africa’s women’s home summer is poised to be a landmark season for international women’s cricket.
