Virat Kohli, who played a match-winning knock in the final to help India lift the T20 World Cup, has opened his heart on social media to thank his wife Anushka Sharma for her immense contribution to his achievement. Taking to Instagram, Kohli posted a picture of the two and wrote, “None of this would remotely be possible without you my love.”

Earlier, after India lifted the coveted title for the second time, Anushka also shared her love for her husband on social media, calling Virat her home.
Notably, Anushka was not present physically to witness the iconic moment in the West Indies. However, Virat was seen talking to her and his kids, Vamika and Akaay, through video call. He could be seen making funny faces as he talked to them from the field.
Virat Kohli’s daughter’s cute concern
The second T20 World Cup win came after a wait of 17 years and so the emotions clearly ran high as soon as Hardik Pandya threw the last ball of the innings to beat South Africa. As tears flowed on the field, with Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli all letting their emotions out, Anushka shared in a post how their daughter was worried if they had someone to hug them.
Virat and Anushka tied the knot in 2017 and welcomed their daughter Vamika in 2021. Their son Akaay was born earlier this year.
Virat Kohli retires from T20 internationals
Virat didn’t have the best run in this World Cup, but he made sure he delivered when it mattered the most. Kohli added 76 runs to India’s scorecard in the final match and was named Player of the Match. Kohli also chose the moment to announce that he would be retiring from T20 internationals after the World Cup. Calling it an “open secret”, Kohli said that it is time for the younger players to enter and do wonders for Team India on the international stage.
